Objective
Elixio, a brand of teeth whitening and care products, entered a brick-and-mortar drugstore chain. It was the brand's first large-scale test of on-shelf presence, and the key question was whether the products would hold their ground against the competition.
The Challenge
In a drugstore, a brand has limited control over product display and shopper behavior. It was unclear whether Elixio products would stand out on the shelf, build brand awareness, and achieve sales that would justify a permanent listing.
Strategy: Chain-Wide A/B Testing
We supported offline sales with a Meta Ads reach campaign, geographically targeted around the drugstores:
• 50% of the selected locations were covered by advertising support,
• the remaining 50% served as a control group, with no digital communication.
We filmed the ads directly inside the drugstore as UGC tailored to the customer persona. They showed exactly where the product was located on the shelf, shortening the decision-making process at the point of sale.
Results
Drugstores covered by the campaign achieved more than double the sales compared to locations without support. After the first month, we expanded the campaign to all drugstores where Elixio products are available.
Conclusions
A reach campaign doesn't have to be just about brand image. When well-planned, it becomes a tool that drives on-shelf turnover and serves as a strong argument in negotiations with the retail chain.
